Take a moment to find out which membership category may be right for you: Affiliate Membership Affiliate membership is open to individuals who are interested in the Appraisal Institute and the appraisal profession, but are not performing any work governed by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). This membership program is best suited for lenders, developers, attorneys, vendors, or professionals in a real estate related business. Student Affiliate Membership Student members can jump-start their careers by joining the Appraisal Institute at a significant discount. Student affiliates receive all the same benefits as other members, including the opportunity to learn and network with seasoned professionals at national and chapter meetings. To be eligible, the student affiliate member must be enrolled in six or more credit hours in a degree program relative to real estate appraisal, finance and/or economics, and must show proof of student status annually. Associate Membership Associate membership is open to appraisers who are performing work governed by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), and may be pursuing the Appraisal Institute's prestigious MAI and SRA designations.
